Claire Ginnelly has been working in the private medical insurance industry since 1991. Most of her experience has been gained working for large insurance companies managing the distribution of health insurance products through intermediaries. She held senior positions within Standard Life Healthcare, as Head of Intermediary Sales, and Groupama Healthcare, as Head of Distribution.
In June 2013, Claire joined Premier Choice Group as Head of Healthcare and she was appointed Managing Director of the Group in July 2015. Premier Choice Group is involved in all aspects of the Healthcare market from Private Medical Insurance to Risk and Protection.
Cura Financial Services
After originally joining financial services as a web programmer, Alan was quickly tempted by the dark side of financial services and became a protection adviser. Alan now runs Cura, a multi award-winning protection intermediary, specialising in hard-to-place protection cases, such as people with health conditions. Alan is also the current Chair of the Protection Distributors Group (PDG), a group of intermediaries working together to improve customer outcomes in the protection industry.

L&C is the UK's leading fee free mortgage broker, offering advice on products from across the mortgage and protection market to borrowers throughout the UK from its offices in Bath, Newcastle and London.
Lucy joined L&C in 2000 as a mortgage and protection adviser and has held a variety of roles prior to appointment as Head of Protection in 2013. She manages the strategic development of protection for L&C as well as working with the wider industry to develop products and processes that deliver better protection outcomes for customers. This has included the piloting of new products and processes within L&C, the development of enhanced products with industry providers and contribution to the wider education of consumers about the need for protection. Lucy is also a member of the Protection Distributors Group, where representatives from leading protection distributors work together to bring positive change to the protection industry.
Roy is an IFA at Cavendish Ware and has been an adviser for 30 years.
He is a passionate advocate of protection in both the individual and group markets as well as advising on corporate and wealth management areas. He is the co chairman of the income protection task force where he was a founding member and integral in the seven families campaign . On this subject he has toured the UK talking to audiences of advisers , insurers, reinsurers and HR professionals on the impact that 7F has made.
He regularly trains advisers on all protection subjects. He is consulted by insurers on product development and is a regular contributor in the press. He is also a founder member of the PDG and sits on the FTRC forums .
He was also the first person to advocate employer sick pay statements and integral in the call for mandatory annual protection statements.
He is also the adviser representative on the resilient households group.

Emma has long believed in life insurance. A family catastrophe in early life hammered home the necessity of protection and, in 2004, she joined the fledgling Moneysupermarket- where her career and her passion for protection intersected.
She led Moneysupermarkets growth and dominance in protection, followed by heading up SunLife's Digital Marketing until 2017 when she then joined LifeSearch as CMO.
Since joining LifeSearch, Emma has built a marketing team to capitalise on the company's brand equity and bring LifeSearch values and DNA to customers. From launching a new website, brand identity, to venturing into social media, performance and content marketing; new partnerships and consumer PR, Emma is an advocate for making protection accessible to consumers

Rob Harvey is one of the founding advisers of protection specialists Drewberry Insurance, having joined the company in 2012 following several years of graduate & post-graduate study, and a background in General Insurance. Having risen through the ranks as an adviser, Rob now heads up the protection team and also oversees adviser training & development.
Rob works closely with insurers and those in the industry to help develop protection propositions and push for better consumer outcomes; he is a frequent commentator on protection stories in the press and a member of the F&TRC's Protection Forum.

Johnny Timpson is Scottish Widows' financial protection specialist. As a leading expert in his sector, he brings over 40 years' experience working in a variety of technical roles and distribution models.
He is currently the DWP Disability Champion for the Insurance Industry and Profession, and Chairs the Access to Insurance Working Group, in addition he is a member of the Single Financial Guidance Body FinTech and Mental Health Advisory Group. Johnny is also a member of the CII's Insuring Women's Futures Programme Advisory Panel and London Institute Inclusion and Diversity Committee. In addition, he's a member of the Resilience Task Force chaired by Baroness Drake and also the Income Protection Task Force where he sits on both its Welfare and Building Resilient Households Working Groups.
Emma has nearly twenty years' experience in the Protection industry, and uses her expertise and influence to help grow and improve the protection market. Emma is LifeSearch's Life Office Relationship Director and Press Spokesperson. Both roles involve her lobbying for improved customer experiences and increased consumer awareness; she works closely with insurers to develop their propositions, helps journalists with Protection stories, together with speaking publicly and writing columns herself on issues and opportunities to help get more consumers protected. Through this work for LifeSearch, Emma founded and is Chair of the Women in Protection Network. The group's purpose is to highlight the need for more women to take out Protection insurance, and to help increase the number of women working within and influencing our industry. Emma is also chair of the Protection Distributors Group which aims to improve the industry for consumers.

Melissa Collett is Professional Standards Director at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), leading its professional standards, ethics and conduct activity as a united profession across insurance and financial planning. She is also responsible for the professional body's legal affairs, risk management, disciplinary matters and governance. She is keen to raise awareness of best practice and drive ethical behaviour through engagement with the profession and external stakeholders.
Melissa has an extensive background in consumer insurance and legal issues. She spent over a decade at the Financial Ombudsman Service, was a Director at Fairer Finance and sits as a Tribunal Judge. She is also qualified solicitor, and specialised in insurance law at Hogan Lovells. She is a frequent speaker at insurance conference and events, sits on judging panels, and is the author of numerous articles and publications on consumer insurance law subjects. She is currently a non-executive committee chair of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
Ron Wheatcroft is Technical Manager for Swiss Re's UK life and health business.
He is the author of its Group Watch reports and leads Swiss Re's work with UK legislators and regulators, seeking ways to ensure the primary group and individual product markets work well for consumers and for financial institutions.
He led Swiss Re's work identifying the Life Assurance and Income Protection Gaps in the UK which has become the model which is now used across many other international markets.
He is a past Board Member of the Investment & Life Assurance Group, a member of GRiD's Regulations Committee and Raising the Profile Working Party, and the ABI's Social Care Working Party.
In 2018, he became a member of the Steering Group of the DWP Champion Access to Insurance Working Party and jointly leads the Working Group seeking ways to utilise the workplace more effectively to widen access to financial products and services through employers.
A Chartered Insurer, Ron is a past winner of the Protection Review Lifetime Achievement Award.
Outside work, Ron is a long-suffering season ticket holder at Gillingham FC.

Stuart Scullion has been a well known face in the healthcare industry for more than two decades as both an Insurer and an Intermediary.
He was Managing Director of The Private Health Partnership, one of the UK's largest intermediary firms, for five years before the business was acquired by Punter Southall Group in 2014. He became Commercial Director at Punter Southall Health & Protection, a position he held until March 2017.
Stuart has been Chairman of the Association of Medical Insurers & Intermediaries (AMII) since March 2015.
He strongly advocates the AMII Code of Ethics and the raising of professional standards by qualification.
Stuart is a past Chairman of the Association of Medical Expenses Insurers (AMEI) and previously a Director of the treatment sourcing business, Medical Care Direct Limited
In October 2016 he was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Health Insurance Awards.
Since April 2017, as well as being AMII Chair, he has been running his own consultancy business acting in a non-executive and advisory capacity supporting businesses with their strategy, distribution, corporate governance and risk.
